International Chamber of Shipping, EC3

In February 2021, we started work with the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS) on the planning of their fit out of the 7th floor of the newly renovated Walsingham House close to Fenchurch Street.  ICS leased 5,500 sqft of interior space plus a terrace with beautiful views.

We worked with the property agent (Carter Jonas), the managing agent for Walsingham House (Hartnell Taylor Cook) and ICS’s lawyer (Abrahams Dresden) to reach agreement on the lease and the Licence to Alter.

The designer was already onboard, but we tendered for a number of positions including an M&E consultant, AV specialist, furniture consultant and ultimately, the main contractor.

The fit out commenced in April 2021, amidst tight Covid related restrictions, which added a couple of challenges with materials on longer lead times.  The irony of the Ever Given, which blocked the Suez Canal in March, was not lost on us!

We had weekly meetings with the project team and ICS.  We worked alongside ICS’s internal team to assist with decision making, and to keep the project on track for both budget and timetable.

The ICS staff were able to relocate from St Mary Axe, (ie. working from home), in July 2021 just as the restrictions were being lifted.

We were proud to be leading this project, and to have the opportunity to work with a very charming client team, and a great team of professionals.
