Michael Davey Financial Management, EC2

Having worked for MDFM since 2010 in various roles, we were delighted to project manage the refurbishment of their existing 2,000 sqft on the 5th floor of the historical Salisbury House, overlooking Finsbury Circus.
MDFM is a firm of Independent Financial Advisers and Investment Managers, established over 40 years ago. It is a fully office-based business, so we needed to ensure that the fit-out work caused minimal disruption and was able to allow for some staff to be able to work from the office during the fit-out.
Therefore, logistics and phasing were the biggest challenge of this project with very specific timings and deadlines within the programme.
We decided to completely re-imagine the space with the expert input of Burtt-Jones & Brewer, led by Adam Burtt-Jones.
Hefty roller-racking filing units were removed to make way for a bright and welcoming breakout space with kitchen and a height adjustable central square table, which can be repurposed for staff meetings if needed.
A new boardroom was built with the addition of a Jabra AV system, and the Managing Director was relocated into a corner office with great views across the trees in the Circus, boldly painted wall colours and a new suite of furniture.
Top quality second-hand height-adjustable desks were procured after an investment bank downsized, which MDFM staff are now enjoying to the full.
In addition, all of the structured cabling was replaced from perimeter trunking into floor boxes, the Comms room was relocated and a new look to the Reception area was created including a bespoke reception desk.
Within 12 weeks from commencement in June 2022, the office was transformed from a dated and rather dull space to one that is a pleasure to come into and which makes us particularly proud of this project.
